These are original Mk1 Safety Catch Assemblies for No.4 series rifles. These are common to Rifles No4 Mk1, 1* & 2, Jungle Carbine No5, .22" Rifles No7, 8 & 9, and Rifles 7.62mm L8 series, L39A1 Target Rifles and L42A1 Sniper Rifles.

The assembly consists of Lever Bolt Locking, Bolt Locking, Spring and Screw securing. The parts require no 'fitting' other than ensuring that the 'Bolt Locking' is correctly fitted on the right spline of the Lever (a matter of trial and error requiring no special skill just a little patience).

The majority of parts will be new and unissued, although some levers may be recovered from service rifles but with little or no use and only a little wear to the finish. All components will be servicable and fit for use on live firing weapons if fitted correctly. If in any doubt please consult a qualified Armourer or gunsmith before 'going live' after fitting a new safety. In any case ALWAYS dry test the weapon after fitting.
